Nous sommes en plein déménagement et mon blogue sera sans doute un peu plus silencieux pour la prochaine semaine. J’espère toutefois que ça ne dureras pas trop longtemps car j’ai bien hâte de mettre un peu de vie et de dessins sur ce blogue!
J’ai parler beaucoup de Dr. Sketchy et de la Craft Mafia, dernièrement, mais j’ai bien hâte de parler un peu d’autres choses, comme mes projets personnels sur lesquels je dois travailler.

We’re currently starting to move and my blog will probably be a little more quieter for the next week. I hope that this won’t be for too long as I can’t wait to bring more life and drawings on this blog!
I’ve only been talking about Dr. Sketchy and the Craft Mafia lately, but I can’t wait to talk about other things that I am personally working on.

Et puis, comme si nous n’avions pas assez de “stress”, Falkor nous a fait la mauvaise blague de se cacher sous un meuble! C’est qu’il y’avait beaucoup de gens dans l’appartement et ça l’a effrayer. Nous avons crû qu’il s’était sauvé et nous l’avons chercher pendant près de 45 minutes! Fiou! C’est qu’on s’attache sans s’en rendre compte à ces petites bêtes.
Ah, j’ai hâte que tout soit terminer et d’être dans mon nouvel atelier! Youppi! Heu, oui, chéri. Ce sera -notre- atelier. Ahem.

And as if we didn’t have enough “stress”, Falkor decided to hide in the apartment for a whole 45 minutes. There were many people helping us moving some boxes and it scared him. We thought he had escaped without us noticing. But he was very well-hidden under an old chair of ours. Phew! We love those little critters!
I can’t wait to be done moving and to be in my all brand new workshop! Yippee! Umm… yes, honey. It will be -our- new workshop. Ahem.

Il est à peu près temps que je pense à vous dire que nous sommes présentement à la recherche d’un locataire pour notre 3 1/2, à Montréal, car je vais déménager. Olivier, moi et nos 2 chats commencions à trouver que nous étions un peu à l’étroit mais peut-être qu’il serait parfait pour vous!

It’s about time that I think to let you know that I we are currently looking to rent our apartment, in Montreal. Olivier, me and our two lovely cats were starting to find it a little small for all of us. But it may be perfect for you!

Ouf! Nous avons travailler fort! // Phew! We worked a lot!

Maintenant que mes 2 gros projets sont terminés, Dr. Sketchy au festival Fringe et la foire artisanale “Fringe Bazaar”, je vais me reposer et respirer par le nez! Juste un peu car, d’ici quelques jours, je devrai déménager.

La foire s’est bien déroulée! Nous avons eu un achalandage d’environ 1500 personnes et nous sommes satisfaites. C’est très bien pour un premier évènement!

Cette semaine, vu que Val est en vacances pour les prochaines semaines, Pam et moi se rencontrons pour faire les tirages et discuter des commentaires des exposants. Nous aimerions organiser un autre évènement avant le temps des fêtes alors il faut déjà commencer à y penser.

Mais pour l’instant, j’ai un contrat de maquillage aux Loisirs de Napierville pour la St-Jean. Je vais donc aller me coucher et essayer de ne pas trop rêver aux fleurs de lys!

Now that my 2 main projects are over, Dr. Sketchy at the Fringe and the “Fringe Bazaar” craft fair, I will be able to stop a little and breath. Just for a little time thought as I will need to move in the following days! Bleh.

The craft fair went well. We had around 1500 people coming and we are happy with this number. For a first event, it’s very good!

This week, since Val is currently in vacations, Pam and me will meet to do the raffle and read the vendor’s comments about the craft fair. We’d like to organize one before Christmas time, so we already need to think about it.

But, in the moment, I’ll go to bed as I have a facepainting contract tomorrow, for the St-Jean Baptiste . I’ll try to not dream too much of the fleurs de lysés.

To buy handmade is to participate in the local economy, to pose an ecological gesture and to encourage the culture and artists from here.

Directions:
- Stop at Metro Laurier, Exit St-Joseph, walk 5-10 minutes toward West. The Church is on the corner of Boul. St-Joseph and St-Dominique.

- If you’re in car, there is some parking behind the Church. Make sure you have the right directions via “Google Maps”.

I’ll be at Dr. Sketchy’s table. Come say “Hi” to me!

Je viens juste de terminer l’affiche de Dr. Sketchy pour le Festival Fringe de Montréal! Ouf! C’est juste mais c’est fait! J’ai fait l’illustration et, comme à l’habitude, le graphisme.

L’évènement a lieu ce Lundi, 16 juin, de 18h00 à 21h00 et c’est GRATUIT! C’est à l’extérieur, au Parc des Amériques, coin St-Laurent et Rachel.
Alors, si ça fait longtemps que vous voulez y participer, c’est un bon moment!

I just finished Dr. Sketchy’s poster for the Montreal Fringe Festival. It’s close but it’s done! Phew! I did the illustration and, as usual, the photoshop work.

The event will be held this Monday, june 16th, from 6pm to 9pm and it’s FREE! It’s outside, at the Parc des Amériques, corner of St-Laurent and Rachel street.
So, if you wanted to join along, this would be a great time!

Une artiste que j’aime beaucoup, La Puce à l’Agonie, avait un vernissage en compagnie de ses co-princesses Mimi Traillette et Fabesko, ce soir. L’exposition est du 6 juin au 6 juillet! Sympathique comme tout!

Personnellement, j’adore la petite carte postale de l’évènement!

Doux Cauchemars et autres contes de fées

Il était une fois deux princesses désillusionnées qui, ayant embrassé tous les crapauds du royaume sans grand résultat, délaissèrent la quête du prince charmant et se lancèrent en compagnie d’une fée amie à la découverte de leur univers féerique et menaçant.

Dame Traillette, la Princesse à l’Agonie et la Fée Fabesko vous ouvrent tout grand les portes de leur merveilleux monde désenchanté au Palais de Glamort, dans la lointaine contrée de Saint-Henri du 6 juin au 6 juillet 2008.

An artist that I appreciate very much, La Puce à l’Agonie had an expo tonight with her fellow princesses Mimi Traillette and Fabesko. It last from today to July 6th. It’s lovely!

Voici une photo prise très rapidement de la peinture qui m’a prise 3 ans à terminer!

Et pourtant, ce n’est pas parce qu’elle était difficile à terminer. Un mot: procrastination! Je l’ai terminée dans mon atelier libre de peinture à La Boule Rouge. Il s’agit d’un format 20″ x 16″ et je continue une série de peinture dans le même genre, en ce moment.

Ça faisait un petit bout que je n’avais pas fait d’acrylique et c’est un beau défi. Vous devriez tous lâcher photoshop et vous y mettre!

Here’s a quick picture of the finished result of the painting that took me almost 3 years to finish!

And it’s not even because it was hard to finish. One word: Procrastination! I finished it in at the La Boule Rouge’s workshop. It’s a 20″ x 16″ size and I’m working on a serie in the same style.

It’s been awhile that I’ve done acrylic paint and it’s a good challenge. You should all leave photoshop for a moment and try it!

The next Dr. Sketchy will be this Saturday May 24th, from 2pm to 5pm. As usual, we’ll be at the burlesque Mainline Theater, 3997, St-Laurent.

Our models will be two magnificient ladies, Colette and Marina, from the Boston Big Moves troupe!

Pourquoi ce petit calendrier avec des autocollants dessus? Eh bien, cela fait plusieurs mois que je pense à “me mettre en forme”. Lorsque tu dessine, travaille sur un ordinateur et blogue sur un ordinateur, tu n’as pas souvent l’occasion de bouger! Ce n’est pas tant que j’ai beaucoup à perdre, mais c’est surtout que je veux le faire -avant- qu’il ne soit trop tard. Et puis, franchement, quand t’es essouflée juste à prendre une marche à l’extérieur à 26 ans, c’est pas très normal!

Pourquoi les autocollants? Après chaque entrainement, je mets un petit autocollant à la date à laquelle je me suis entrainée. C’est fou comment une petite chose aussi simple peut faire courir une fille! ^-

Tant qu’à m’entrainer, j’ai pris le coach qui allait avec! Car je savais très bien que j’en avais besoin et qu’il allait me motiver à me dépasser. Jusqu’à date, ça fonctionne!

J’ai été inspirée par plusieurs histoires dont celle de Jennifer qui est une crafty mama qui a décidée, elle aussi, de se remettre en forme il y’a quelques années.

Alors, à vous, tous les bloggeurs qui n’osent pas, je vous dis, vous êtes capable! Go, go!

Why this calendar with little stickers on it? Well, I’ve been thinking about awhile about “getting in shape”. When you draw, work on a computer and blog on a computer, you don’t get to move that much. It’s not that I have -that- much to loose, but I decided to start working until it gets really worst! And let’s face it, it’s not normal to get all red after a small walk outside at 26! I need to USE that body!

So, why the stickers, you ask? After each session, I put a cute little sticker on the date that I went to the gym. It’s funny how a simple little thing like that can get a girl running. ^-^

I got a coach because I -know- I need one to give me a good program and support me when it’s getting tougher. And so far, it’s working!

I got inspired as well by many stories and also by Jennifer who is one crafty mama and decided to do the same some years ago.
So, I say, to all of you bloggers who wants to get in shape, you can do it! (Boy, do I sound like I’m in military school!)
